but who doesn't ever think something less than favorable before acting or saying the opposite? you're lying if you say that you don't. yet when i write what i feel, and not necessarily what i actually did, i get reamed.
i'm past that though. that's why i started this blog in the first place. everyone writes for their readers. everyone puts on the comfortable, ideal, shiny side of themselves into their blog and leaves out the ugly. nobody wants to showcase the ugly and risk people
the upside of this all is how therapeutic writing and getting responses is. of course any blog can get responses. but with regard to race in particular, the responses and emails are amazing usually and let me know i'm not the only one with my feelings...

Black Girl, I love your blog!
Even though I don't always agree with what you say I appreciate how honestly you put your thoughts and feelings across...
As the biracial child of a mixed race mother and a white father, I can connect to so much of what you say... Especially those incidents that are so true to life they make me cringe!
So just keep right on keeping on, girl!
Even though I was one of those in the tipping post you may be talking about I want to say your honesty is the one reason that I started reading your blog. I find it awesome. Personally, when I comment I often just state my take on an issue. I try hard to to say anything offensive to the writer even if my opinion differs. My intention was never to bash, just offer my opinion. Hope it will be seen as such.
I'm glad that you're honest, but I also pity you a bit.
It seems you will never know for sure if someone mistreated you or judged you because of your race, your gender, your occupation, your finacial status, etc - from your perspective, you will always assume it was because of race.
Mistreatment occurs for any host of reasons, usually issues that have nothing to do with you, but the person who's acting out.
It's not to say prejudiced bigots don't exist but you are a bigot too, you know. You judge others pretty harshly based upon momentary experiences and blame race.
Reading your blog, I hope you wake up and embrace your greatness and escape your self-made mental cage of hang-ups ...
I love that you are honest in your blogs. What a great idea you had to tell it like you see it. So many of your views are right on, no they may not be pc but they are true. Keep it comin. Love to see what your latest thoughts are.
I hope you don't pass your hangups on to your biracial children.
TBG, many people who blog get hate mail. So don't take it too personally.
For what it's worth, I like your blog precisely because you explore your gut-reactions. As an asian male, it's interesting to me to discover the similarities and differences we have in how we perceive things.
Ironically, the anonymous commentors who bash your perceptions only serve to legitimize them, in my opinion.
Their stance appears to be "I don't perceive the things that you do, therefore you must be stupid or psychotic." This position assumes that their point of view is the only acceptible or valid one. This is exactly why race and gender continue to be social issues.
I gave my tips grudgingly until I worked as a waiter.
If you were to work depending on tips, the way you feel would probably magically change : )
